‘To Love’ – Golden Melody Awards Best Song in Last 20 Years

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards, NetEase ran a contest among Mainland China fans for the best song in the last twenty years of the awards. When the polls closed at 6:00 p.m. on June 17, a total of 136,490 votes were cast. The winner was Faye Wong’s (王菲) “To Love” (将爱 Jiang Ai), the title track from Faye’s Nov 2003 album, which won the 15th Golden Melody Award for best female performance in the national language (Mandarin). The song was written and composed by Faye. It garnered 13,802 votes. Jacky Cheung’s (张学友) “Kissing” (吻别) was second, with 12,816. (Source: NetEase 6.18.09)
