  1. 9. A Little Clever (music, Chang You, Oct 1998)

Isnt this song actually some cover of the cocteau twins?

  2. Hi, y.A.S.d. I just checked the original release CD: the song was composed by Faye, and the lyrics by Lin Xi (林夕). But you may be right re influence.

  3. ahh these too :) really the best songs of Faye are written by herself :) she really is the best artist ever <3

  4. Gizmo, no question about it — no one in China, or anywhere else, comes close to Faye. She’s a total package — excellent in all the ways that really count. There’s never going to be another Faye Wong. Ever.

  5. I know! It totally sucks how she was the best thing to come into existence in the Chinese music industry, and then didn’t do much. But I kind of love her for that.

  6. as for the Cocteau Twins thing, “A Little Clever” had the background la-la-la vocals that were taken from Cocteau Twins’ “Calfskin Smack” from Milk & Kisses, the Asian version of which had “Serpentskirt” featuring Faye (and which is the version I prefer to the original one). The music is original though, it’s not a cover.
